STL completes bespoke project with Crash Care Centre Hitchin

STL Spraybooth recently completed installing a bespoke project with Crash Care Centre Hitchin.

We caught up with director Hugh Eaglesham to find out how it went…

Can you tell us why you decided to improve your spraybooth facilities?

As a company, we have been steadily growing and we got to a stage where we knew a second spraybooth would be beneficial to our business. We had opened a second shop – a panel shop – and improving our spraybooth facilities for our customers, new and old, seemed like the next logical step.

What did STL install?

We asked STL to install a 10m long booth which would give us enough to spray two cars or our Sprinter Vans at the same time. They put in an external booth which was custom made as we wanted it to fit into one of our external buildings.

How would you describe STL’s work and how has it improved productivity?

They have been absolutely phenomenal. We wanted everything to be eco-efficient and economical and they have done everything we asked. It has made an instant impact. We are already seeing work go through much quicker – we typically now have eight to 10 cars a day going through the site. Prior to this, we had to deal with queuing but now we can get cars in the morning and spray them in the afternoon. The key-to-key turnover time is already going right down.

We are a leading independent accident repair centre based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. I bought the business two years ago and we have grown into starting a panel shop across the road. We have invested £180,000 into the business with new equipment, a new mixing room and new lights.
