Bespoke Spraybooth Installation for Penske Porsche, Germany
A challenging first-floor installation for Penske Porsche in Germany, featuring a fully electric Cyclone spraybooth designed around a low ceiling and complex existing services.
This project involved the construction of a new aircraft hangar, built from the ground up to support large-scale aircraft refinishing operations. The development included the full steel structure and internal fit-out, creating a purpose-built environment for the aviation sector.
In addition to its operational role, the facility was also designed to function as a dedicated training environment for aircraft paint application, supporting both practical learning and process development.
STL was responsible for the design, manufacture, and installation of the paint preparation and spray extraction systems, forming a key part of the facility’s overall capability.
Aircraft refinishing brings unique challenges due to the size of components and the need for tightly controlled working conditions. In addition, the system had to comply with strict aviation industry standards, where consistency, safety, and environmental control are critical.
The dual purpose of the facility added further complexity, as the environment needed to support both day-to-day operations and structured training activities. The solution therefore had to balance performance, reliability, and ease of use, while integrating seamlessly within the newly constructed hangar.
STL delivered a complete extraction and ventilation package tailored to the demands of the facility and the standards required within the aviation sector. This included full ductwork, filtration, and carefully engineered airflow control systems.
The system was designed to support both large-scale refinishing work and hands-on training, providing stable, controlled conditions suitable for consistent application and instruction.
The completed facility provides a high-quality environment for aircraft refinishing while also supporting effective training in paint application techniques. The system enables dependable performance at scale and offers a versatile space that meets both operational and educational needs within the aviation sector.
