Project overview
This project involved the delivery of a fully bespoke spraybooth facility for an automotive client as part of their expansion into a new region. The new site was developed to support increased operational capacity, providing a purpose-built workshop designed around both flexibility and performance.
Delivered as a complete turnkey project, STL managed the design, manufacture, and installation of the facility, ensuring a seamless process from concept through to completion.
The installation formed part of an ongoing multi-site relationship, supporting the customer’s continued growth and wider market presence.
The challenge
The project required a fully customised solution to fit within an existing workshop space, while meeting the demands of a modern automotive refinishing operation.
In addition to spatial constraints, the installation needed to deliver high levels of performance in terms of airflow, lighting, and heating, all while complying with relevant industry regulations. A tight delivery programme added further complexity, requiring careful planning and coordination to ensure the project could be completed on time without compromising quality.
The solution
We delivered a complete turnkey solution, taking responsibility for all aspects of the project from initial design through to final installation.
The system included:
- One STL TEMPO spraybooth and one Spraymate crossdraft booth, providing flexibility for a range of refinishing applications
- Rear wall extraction system with 4m x 2m extract area and airflow of 18,000m³/hr
- Lighting levels in excess of 1800 lux to support high-quality finishing
- Direct-fired gas heating system, compliant with BS EN 16985, EPA PG6/34, and Gas Safe standards
In addition to the spraybooth systems, STL designed and constructed supporting internal spaces, including offices, a kitchen, breakout area, and plant room, all built using composite panelling to create a clean, cohesive finish throughout the facility.
Despite a demanding four-week programme, the project was delivered on time and to specification.
