STL transformed an industrial paint training centre, installing a split spraybooth and interlinked training area to allow multiple sessions simultaneously. Project overview
The customer aimed to upgrade their industrial paint training centre to provide a more effective and flexible learning environment for their customers. The goal was to create a modern, purpose-built space that could accommodate multiple training sessions simultaneously while showcasing their products in a controlled, professional setting.
The challenge
The key requirement was a large split spraybooth capable of supporting either two training groups or a combination of training and product development activities at the same time.
Additional design considerations included:
Hidden storage cupboards with roller shutter doors to allow training on differently branded products for various market sectors
Space allocation for a future climatically controlled test spraybooth with tight control over temperature and humidity
Integration of the specialist test booth area without disrupting existing operations
The solution
A bespoke training spraybooth system was installed to meet all requirements:
One 12m x 6m x 3m side-extract, split down-draft spraybooth
Interlinked training room and paint mixing area to support simultaneous sessions
Mezzanine platform with access from existing high-level stairs, providing future-ready space for a climatically controlled test booth
STL addressed the challenges of future expansion and complex workflow by designing the mezzanine over the PMR, creating space for the specialist test booth without disrupting existing operations. Our approach ensured that the facility could accommodate multiple training formats, brand-specific product demonstrations, and future upgrades, all while maintaining a seamless operational flow.
