Altitude Paints approached STL to supply a full heating, extraction, and ventilation system for narrow-body aircraft painting at Munster Osnabruck Airport. The project marked the company’s first dedicated painting operation in Germany and leveraged STL’s extensive experience across multiple European sites.
The challenge
The installation required a bespoke solution tailored to the unique characteristics of the proposed hangar. While STL had previously installed systems in France, Holland, Slovakia, Estonia, and Lithuania, this was the company’s first project in Germany post-Brexit, introducing additional logistical and regulatory considerations.
The solution
STL delivered a purpose-built 45m × 51m × 12m hangar painting facility including a contained paint mixing room. The system was engineered to meet the operational demands of narrow-body aircraft finishing while optimising airflow, heating, and extraction for consistent paint application.
