Bespoke Spraybooth Installation for Penske Porsche, Germany
A challenging first-floor installation for Penske Porsche in Germany, featuring a fully electric Cyclone spraybooth designed around a low ceiling and complex existing services.
STL designed and installed advanced automotive spraybooths incorporating a newly engineered heat recovery operating system. The project focused on delivering a high-performance finishing solution capable of operating efficiently within the site’s limited gas supply, while maintaining professional bodyshop standards.
The client required the latest generation spraybooths while working within strict limitations on available gas supply at the facility.
Key objectives included:
Reducing energy consumption without compromising spraybooth performance, airflow, or finish quality
Delivering a solution that is space-efficient, reliable, and easy to maintain
Ensuring long-term operational benefits and sustainable performance
STL designed and installed state-of-the-art spraybooths featuring fully integrated Heat Recovery Units. By capturing heat from process air and reusing it within the system, the solution significantly reduces gas consumption while maintaining consistent booth performance.
The Heat Recovery Units were engineered to integrate seamlessly with the spraybooths, requiring no additional external equipment, no increase in airflow resistance, and no extra fan energy. This approach maximised efficiency without adding complexity to installation or ongoing maintenance.
Fully integrated, space-efficient Heat Recovery Unit
High-efficiency heat recovery using copper heat transfer panels
Low-maintenance system with long-life internal components
No additional airflow resistance or increased fan energy
No requirement for extra or specialised filtration
Built-in bypass to prevent heat gain during warm ambient conditions
The installed spraybooths provide the client with a high-performance, energy-efficient finishing environment that operates comfortably within the site’s limited gas supply. The integrated Heat Recovery system reduces energy demand while maintaining consistent operating conditions and finish quality, supporting reliable day-to-day production.
The solution delivers clear operational cost savings, improved sustainability, and a future-ready facility capable of supporting ongoing production needs.
A future-ready spraybooth solution combining advanced finishing performance with significantly reduced gas consumption. The heat recovery system offers strong operational and financial returns, with an estimated payback period of under two years, while supporting efficient and sustainable bodyshop operations.
