Mel Aviation, a specialist supplier of aviation components, required additional finishing capacity to support growth within their aircraft evacuation systems operation. As part of this expansion, the painting facility needed to be relocated into a newly constructed business unit, ensuring continuity of quality, compliance, and production output.
The challenge
The project formed part of a wider new-build workshop programme, requiring the spray booth installation to be carefully coordinated alongside ongoing construction activities. The programme was governed by exacting timelines, with the new finishing facility needing to be operational in line with the completion of the building works to support production ramp-up.

STL delivered a bespoke rear wall extract, fully enclosed spray booth, along with a dedicated Paint Mixing Room, designed specifically for the new business unit. The solution was engineered to integrate seamlessly into the new build, supporting efficient workflow, controlled air quality, and reliable process performance.
